The Branchline/Backwoods Roundhouse HO Scale Kit #100

The Branchline/Backwoods Roundhouse represents a typical design for wood roundhouses through the United States and Canada. The attached machine shop provided minor repairs for locomotives. Many of these structures remained in use into the diesel era.

The Storage Warehouse received supplies used by the railroad by rail and truck, and provided a place for crews to relax during layovers.

The Boiler House provided much needed heat in the form of steam to the roundhouse, thus allowing the maintenance crews a warm place to work in inclement weather.

The Coal Storage Bunker kept the coal for the Boiler House from freezing in the winter months. It also provided a secure place to store a valuable commodity during the Depression era.

The ash pit can be built as a one-piece open-sided pit, or, with as an enclosed pit with the supplied casting.

This is a limited run kit. Only 300 made.
